Salvem les Fotos UPV / Recuperar las memorias es un proyecto de recuperación, conservación y restitución de fotografías familiares dañadas por la DANA que afectó la Comunidad Valenciana en octubre de 2024.
Impulsado por la Universitat Politècnica de València, bajo la dirección de los investigadores Pedro Vicente-Mullor, Pilar Soriano Sancho y Esther Nebot Díaz, el proyecto ha reunido a investigadores, profesionales, estudiantes y voluntarios en una acción colectiva de rescate patrimonial.
A través de procesos técnicos de limpieza, digitalización, restitución con Inteligencia Artificial de más de 250.000 fotografías deterioradas, Salvem les Fotos UPV / Recuperar las memorias pone en valor la memoria doméstica y la dimensión afectiva del archivo familiar, articulando una respuesta cultural ante la pérdida desde la conservación, la investigación, la práctica artística y las tecnologías.
Salvem les Fotos UPV / Recuperar las Memorias es un testimonio del poder de la comunidad, del papel del cuidado en la preservación cultural y del profundo vínculo entre memoria, imagen e identidad, que revela no solo la fragilidad de la memoria, sino también su asombrosa capacidad de resistencia.
Salvem les Fotos UPV / Recuperar las Memorias is a project focused on the recovery, conservation, and restitution of family photographs damaged by the DANA storm that struck the Valencian Community in October 2024.
Led by researchers Pedro Vicente-Mullor, Pilar Soriano Sancho, and Esther Nebot Díaz, and promoted by the Universitat Politècnica de València, the project brought together researchers, professionals, students, and volunteers in a collective action of heritage rescue.
Through technical processes of cleaning, digitization, and AI-assisted restitution of more than 250,000 damaged photographs, Salvem les Fotos UPV / Recuperar las Memorias highlights the value of domestic memory and the emotional dimension of the family archive, articulating a cultural response to loss through conservation, research, artistic practice, and emerging technologies.
